#A date with Chii now is okay to use (Part 1)

(It's been a while since I've tled something and I'm still learning jp so please take this tl with a grain of salt!! also, pls ignore the images not fitting on mobile phones,,, idk why it's doing that and i can't fix it no matter how much I try...)

Chihiro: Yay yay! A big win for Chii~☆

Chief: Did something good happen, Chihiro-kun?

Chihiro: Chiefpi! Listen listen!

Currently, a recent viral pancake cafe and Chii’s favorite brand, TuRyStA, is doing a collab and—

Chii’s managed to get a reserved seat ⁠♪ With this, Chii’s able to eat that suuuper cute TuRyStA bear limited edition pancake.

Chief: Oh, that's great to hear!

I've heard that pancakes are trending in a retrospective boom[1] these days but to think that even a collaboration would happen…

Chihiro: It isn't just because of them being retro. It's because the pancakes of today are evolving ⁠♪

Take a look at this site, Chiefpi. Currently, puddings and fruits are bursting in popularity[2], they're so fluffy and melty that it's crazy good when it dissolves in your mouth, y'know~?

Chief: Woah, they look delicious!

Uuu… Listening to Chihiro’s conversation is making me slowly crave for sweets.

Even though I just finished eating dinner…

Chihiro: Ahaha, same here~!

It seems like Kirokkuma will be going with his little sis for this collab.

It’ll be totes pien if Chii were to go alone so Chii reserved seats for two people because Chii is thinking of inviting someone too.

Hey, Chiefpi. Are you free on the weekend? Let’s be full of sweets with Chii together!

Also… Right now, do you wanna eat pudding for dessert too?

While Chii’s talking to Chiefpi, Chii got hungry for sweets too ♪

Think of it as a celebration of getting the reserved seats… How about it?

Chief: Eh, but… I’ve been eating a bit too much lately…

Chihiro: Aren’t there always room for dessert? The cream’s thick[3], and it comes with nata de coco as a bonus y'know…? 

Chief: Ugh… alright! I'll leave today’s pudding and the weekend’s pudding in your care!

Chihiro: Just as Chii thought! As expected of Chiefpi, you know what Chii’s talking about~☆

Alright then, don’t forget the promise we made on the weekend, okay? If you do, Chii will cry!

(Location: Cafe)

Chihiro: Cake ♪ Cake ♪ Pancake ♪

Chief: I’m smelling something good already… I’m excited for it to be delivered.

Chihiro: Of course! Since Chii’s got the goods, all that’s left is to munch[4] on those pancakes!

Chief: Now that I think about it, this really is a popular collaboration.

We were able to enter easily since we already made a reservation but the line outside…

It’s making me feel a little bad about it.

Chihiro: I told you that it’s okay to not worry about it. Things like delicious food and fun places are something to enjoy, even when you’re waiting in line!

Because, even if you don’t take the trouble to wait in line, there’s still a system where you have to wait until it’s your turn, right?

Even so, lining up in front of the store is a daring thing to do[5]!

With this, the time spent talking with Chiefpi as we wait for the pancake to be delivered, Chii enjoys it too…

I’m sure everyone that are lining up outside are enjoying their time waiting as well ♪

Chief: Is that so… I agree.

Thanks. I was a little hesitant when I came to this trendy place all by myself but…

If I’m with Chihiro-kun, the time spent waiting becomes fun too.

Chihiro: …!

OMG, that might just be the best compliment yet…

Serving Drone: Thank you for waiting. Here is the ordered “Starkichi Pancake” and “Turyske Pancake”.

Chihiro: It’s here, it’s here~!!

Now way!? It’s this cute!? It’s so cute that it’s causing a high tension increase[6]!?

Chiefpi, wait a bit before eating! Chii wants to take a pic of Starkichi and Turyske standing side-by-side!

Chief: Go ahead. If my memory serves me right… This purple one is called Starkichi, right?

Chihiro: Correct! And this red one is Turyske. It’s Chii’s fav bear☆

Chief: They’re both cute… Ah, is it alright if I place the drinks here?

Chihiro: Okay okay. Nice positioning!

A list of things that Chihiro (mostly) said that was difficult for me to tl because where the heck does this dude get these words from-

[1] In Japanese, this is known as レトロブーム (retoro buumu) and it refers to nostalgic hobbies. They range from fashion, furniture, lifestyle, and more. The word is an abbreviation of "retrospective" hence I used that instead of retro to be a bit more clear on what they're saying,,,

[2] The word used here was 爆盛 and the first kanji can mean "bomb, burst open, pop, split" while the second can mean "boom, prosper, copulate". I wasn't able to find anything as to what this could mean so I decided to translate and make it in the dialouge based on what each of the kanjis mean to the best of my ability :')

[3] The word used here was ムシムシ which is a term that roughly translates to being in a situation where both humidity and temperature are high, making you feel stuffy and is used as a way of expressing discormfort. I decided to use "thick" so it sounds close to what the term means (mouth feeling stuffy bcs of how thick it is??)

[4] The word used here was ムシャ and it comes from むしゃむしゃ which is an onomotopeia for muching (this almost made me go insane from not knowing what it meant lmao)

[5] The word used here was あえて and it roughly means going out of your way to do something with a certain intention, even if it is by force. omg im learning new words yippee

[6] The word used here was テンションぶちアゲ which roughly means "a sudden increase in tension" my tl for it might be wrong though ue

[7] A two-shot is a type of shot in which two people are in the frame. Chihiro uses this word frequently when he wants to take a picture/selfie with someone.

Note: There's a part where you get to choose what to say! I've made the lines that are in the option stick together so it'll be a bit more easy to identify. Also, minor spoilers ahead! Have fun reading :D

(Location: Hama Downtown)

Chihiro: Hah~... The pancake’s fluffiness and stretchiness tasted so good~!

Chief: You’re right. The sauce that was also on it wasn’t too sweet and had a strong fruit flavor…

Chihiro: Yeah yeah! The strawberry flavor suited Turyske perfectly. That cafe is seriously something to recommend☆

Thanks for taking Starkichi’s part of the pancake.

Being able to eat either of them made my tummy and my heart full~♪

Huh? Do you hear music coming from somewhere?

Chief: It seems like it's coming from that person ahead… Ah. 

That boy, he’s practicing his dance by using the shop window’s glass as a mirror in replacement of it.

Chihiro: …For some reason, it feels nostalgic.

Option 1: Nostalgic?
Chihiro: Yeah! It’s so nostalgic!

Option 2: That kid is just like Chihiro-kun.
Chihiro: Eh, is that so?
Chief: Yeah. It’s not about the appearance, but the way they carefully check the choreography and how they value each and every movement makes me feel that way.
Chihiro: …Chiefpi, to think that you even look at things like that.

Chihiro: You know, when I[1] was little, I actually used shop windows around town to practice dancing just like him too.

That story was long before I appeared in the audition program though.

With no one to teach me, I practiced dancing alone by using everything that I’ve learned by watching others.

There were times that people passing by would scold me for being noisy but those days were where dancing was so fun that I would get absorbed in it…

Chief: Chihiro-kun…

Chihiro: W, well! Even though Chii practiced so devotedly, Chii still flopped the audition program!

Boy wearing a uniform: Sorry, duty got me late!

Boy that was dancing: Don’t worry about it. Come on, let’s practice from where we left last time!

Girl wearing a jersey: I practiced really hard on that dance step. Let’s make sure that today will be a success!

Chihiro: Th… That kid, he’s already on a team…

Chief: (The kid that was dancing alone at the start, you can see that he’s enjoying it more compared to a moment ago…)

…From what I can see, the Chihiro-kun now looks just like them.

Chihiro: Eh?

Chief: Chihiro-kun may have just said in the past tense, “I had fun dancing back then”, but—
Isn’t Chihiro-kun having a lot of fun when he's dancing with everyone in Ev3ns?

Chihiro: Wa, Wha…!?

Chief: What do you think?

Chihiro: …Uu. You’re right, it’s always much more fun now.

Thinking with Raitein about what content ideas we should do for our fanmeets, practicing with Kinyari on singing…

Being given advice by Kugurinu on how to show the choreography, although it’s just done occasionally…

And learning with Taotao on how to do things that you weren't able to do one by one until you’re able to do it as well, all of them make me happy.

Because if I were alone, it’ll be impossible.

Being able to become an idol with everyone. To the Chiefpi who gave us that chance… I’m truly grateful.

Damn it[2], being with Chiefpi is making Chii say anything!

Chief: Ahaha, if you don’t mind me listening, you’re free to say anything you want.

Chihiro: Geez… you really shouldn’t say those things without thinking twice. It’s making Chii want to be spoiled by you.

But, thanks. Because of you being here, I’m[1] able to do my best too.

Today was a blast. Is it alright for Chii to invite you again?

The next one is probs gonna have a long line at the store though…

Chief: Of course. No matter how long we have to stand in line, it’s guaranteed to be fun with Chihiro-kun around.
